WE MADE IT THROUGH!!!!!
A Truly Unforgettable Wedding Story

Toto & Jetty Magallona

I can never forget this wedding. Not just because we had a very wonderful and very gracious couple, but also because their wedding date fell a day after Milenyo, the megastorm, hit Metro Manila.
No water, no electricity, no telephones! Our cellphone batteries, along with my patience, were running dry. With so many things to type and fix, we had to move out of the house along with my computer set, CPU, printer and all ( it's not even a laptop!)
All the hotels were booked! Makati, Edsa, Ortigas, Alabang... nada! Cesar ( AWP's head planner) and I felt like Joseph and Mary ( with my PC as Baby J, bwahahahaaha! ) with no place to stay for the night ( and it's not even Christmas yet! ) We went back to Makati and checked all the boutique hotels along Makati Avenue area....

Before the clock stroke 12, and on the 15th try, we finally found a vacant room. It was on the 7th floor of this non-descript "hotellette" somewhere in P. Burgos Street. Fine? Duh, its elevator wasn't functioning!!!! Money worked this time - had the bright idea to ask the bulky guard to bring up my PC set and pretty much everything, telling him my weight is enough for me to carry!
I thought I was gonna die when I reached the seventh floor, literally fell flat on the floor of the room... breathing heavily as if it were my last.... but had to stand up at once for the floor smelled unpleasant.... cut the crap - it smelled like cockroaches! Think about a room unused for months. So spray, spray, spray.... using Cesar's eau de toilette! One problem solved... at least the cockroach smells of perfume now.
I really felt sorry for the guard with all those heavy loads... but I had to ask more help setting up my PC set on one corner and in no time, voila! Instant office and publishing house! One last request from Manong - I asked him to buy me food, food, food, food and more food. I will never go back down and go up again if only for food. Oh well, at least for this instance anyway.

Just before the rooster woke up, we got to finish the printing of misalettes, programmes, tags, stickers, even the burning of the cd giveaways, etc, etc. Wow! Extreme pressure really works! And there was no need for milk for me to sleep. I didn't even notice that I slept. I was so tired and wasted.

But we made it through! At this point I truly appreciated that Barry Manilow ditty. Who would think that, if you check the photos below, the reception had no aircon! And the bride, who would think she cried all night, as she woke up the next day, and even before the grand entrance? Hay naku, due to those tears, she even looked more radiant and beautiful!!!!!
In all honesty, as I was doing my hosting chores, I felt like a pig being roasted, most especially after I sang the bouncy grand entrance song! :D But I had to be strong and forced myself to keep smiling and feeling fresh despite the liters of sweat coming out from my voluptous 300 pounder! I even remember telling the guests, to think Baguio City for the next two hours. Yet, I made it clear to them to feel free to undress if they felt like doing so, saying that I, too, would go bare naked when necesary. Mwahahahahahaha!
All's well that ends well. Toto & Jetty have proven to themselves that they have real set of friends. They stayed on till the very end of the program as if they were in the coolest place on earth.
From the entire Angel's Wink staff:
Congratulations Toto & Jetty!!!!!

Toto and Jetty ( nee Lopez ) Magallona, who were married last September 30, 2006 ( Santuario de San Jose/ Wack Wack golf And Country Club), decided on the colors orange and brown. Jetty has this penchant for color orange while I believe Toto is a chocolate lover.

One thing nice about having colors as theme is that you have no limitations in styling and possibilities are endless through proper mixmatching.

So what we did was think of the colors of autumn which has the colors orange and brown as the predominant colors, with touches of red and yellow, although we did not go full blast on the "autumn" theme, just its colors mainly, so that we can have a happy and livelier flower combination for the table setup and the entourage, plus the fact that Jetty also wanted some Japanese/ Zen inspiration incorporated.

For the Japanese/Zen inspiration, Jetty and Toto bought these expensive-looking chopsticks made of pure mahogany and we simply had to incorporate the colors in the sashes and tags used along with the misalettes to catch up with the invitation's color and styling.
We also opted for a Zen-inspired backdrop with predominantly orange-colored flowers. Toto & Jetty also commissioned for a chocolate cake with twists of orange colored-autumn leaves and it really looked great!
